I'm Planning a Wedding While Running a Company. Talking Is My New Typing.

8 September 2026 • Productivity

I'm getting married soon, running a business, and my brain has about 47 tabs open at all times. For months, wedding planning lived in scattered notes, unanswered emails, and 11pm panic remembers.

Before: I'd think "email the photographer," forget, remember while making coffee, type half of it on my phone, get distracted, never send it. Guest list changes lived in my fiancée's head and my inbox. My honeymoon checklist was just anxiety.

After: I just talk, and Wispr Flow types it — fast, clean, with actual punctuation. I dictate everywhere, edit once, done. It's cut my admin time in half, easy.

Here's my actual workflow now: I hit my Flow hotkey, speak normally, watch perfect text appear in whatever app I'm in. No headset mumbling, no re-typing. Voice-to-text that actually keeps up with how fast I think.

Three times it saved me this week:

1. The supplier follow-up while walking. I was on a walk, no hands free, remembering I hadn't chased the florist. I just dictated straight into Gmail: "Hi Sarah, just checking on the centerpiece quote and whether peonies are still in season for our date. Can we lock in the tasting next week?" Sent before I got home.

2. Guest-list chaos, captured. My mum called with three extra cousins and two can't-comes. Old me would have scribbled it on a receipt and lost it. I opened our spreadsheet, clicked the cell, and dictated: "Add the Hendersons plus one, move Aunt Pauline to evening only, mark Tom and Jess as declined." Done in 30 seconds.

3. The honeymoon brain-dump. In an Uber, I brain-dumped everything: passports, travel insurance, eSIMs, airport parking, dog sitter tip. Flow dumped it cleanly into my notes app. Later I turned it into a checklist in two minutes.

If you're planning a wedding, juggling life admin, or just hate typing, try this. I use Wispr Flow 20+ times a day now and I'm not going back.
